So the word on the street is that the world has gone consumer crazy. We are doing a subject at uni in sustainability!! Looking at spending habits- and our first task was to renounce things in our lives. Skin care products was not an easy task. (Click on the pervious poster to get a better look). I have been using them for YEARS. I use them because i always have, assuming it's a good thing for my skin. I suppose time will tell. Each morning I am so tempted to sneak them. But my face doesn't seem to be having any adverse affects ( it hasn't fallen off, or broken out!) I am redirecting that money- I can help finance a small forest in a developing country, rather than simply applying crap to my face. Who would have thought?
Not me that's for sure. I get upset with the state of the world- really it's fucked. I do Industrial Design at uni,( Industrial design has a lot to answer for in terms of adding to a bad consumer cycle- but i wont go into that now) So yes i get upset, but do i do anything? Perviously tried to buy organic this and that(doing my little bit to make me feel better).... get down about the world blah, blah , blah.
So what if i changed the way i consume?? Give up abit of this- redirect the money to somewhere else, jump off the consumer train. Haha I sound a little( or maybe just a bit more than alittle) "preachy"- I'm just excited. Yeah i can make a difference.
